So I’ve only just heard about the Conservation Maven online community, but it has a pretty slick database of funding opportunities from government and foundation sources.

One of the categories is “outreach.” I ran a quick search and turned up 25 grants — one of them is for up to $250,000 in Polynesia. That’s right, an island paradise in the South Pacific.

If you get that particular grant and use it to encourage the natives to protect their reefs to attract foreign tourists, will you remember that I pointed out the opportunity? I’ll help carry your scuba gear.
