It’s Easy Being Green!

This does not surprise me: A recent environmental survey in three Congressional districts finds that voters have more “positive feelings” about environmentalists than coal companies or oil companies. But this surprises me: voters are generally more positive than negative about coal companies and more negative than positive about oil companies.

People who dislike you and what you stand for are a minority. A vocal and occasionally obnoxious minority.

It’s worth noting how little variation there is among the three states — all within the margin of error. That’s pretty typical, too.

The coal companies stats are surprising, particularly in lieu of the coal ash spill in Tennessee that was larger than the Exxon Valdez spill. It makes me wonder how the opinions are derived.

Any idea on the demographics of the 3 congressional districts in the 3 states that were polled? Are the CDs consistently the same type of folks (all urban vs. all rural, blended, etc.)? Who represents these districts in Congress?
