Another Funny Story

water blog photographSo here’s another funny story that reveals how professionals and everday citizens go through life with their heads in different places. Don Waye at the Environmental Protection Agency responded to the story about the old lady heaving bags of dog poop into the lake, by offering this one of his own:

GREAT story! It reminded me about an odd response we got to a storm drain marking project. I originally advised volunteers against “over-signage”–placing the little markers on every possible storm drain in the neighborhood, but I don’t do that anymore. One guy who was looking for a place to dump his used oil was observed pausing at two marked storm drains and finally dumped it down a 3rd drain (which was unmarked). He explained that he was happy to have finally found a storm drain that did not drain to the stream (and Chesapeake Bay).
